Abstract

Globalization has driven significant technological advances, making it a key challenge for educational institutions to meet the demands of this digital landscape. In this context, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) serves as an essential tool to optimize teaching and learning in the classroom. Therefore, this study aims to examine the benefits of integrating these technologies into botany education. This work consists of a descriptive, integrative literature review. Articles published between 2004 and 2024 addressing the use of ICT in botany teaching were collected from the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), the CAPES Periodicals Portal, and Google Scholar. A total of 22 articles were selected for analysis. The findings indicate that combining active learning methodologies with digital resources evokes a range of student reactions, moving from initial unfamiliarity to curiosity and enthusiasm. Ultimately, the results highlight the vital role of ICT in the botany teaching and learning process. Therefore, strategic approaches must be developed to overcome current pedagogical challenges so that students can fully benefit from various technological tools.
