The offering of professional education courses in the distance learning modality has grown rapidly in Brazil. Characterized by the possibility of studying at any time and in any place, this format is mostly sought by those who do not have the time or money to attend classrooms, usually young workers. Apparently beneficial, these offerings need to be monitored and analyzed carefully, since their pedagogical characteristics have a direct impact on the teaching and learning process and, consequently, on the training received by the worker. This study aims to describe and systematize the knowledge about pedagogical mediation and didactic transposition in distance learning professional education in Brazil. To accomplish it, initially five relevant Brazilian scientific journals in the areas of Professional Education and Work, and Education were selected. In them, a search was undertaken for scientific articles, published between 2017 and 2021, which contained the keywords “transposition”, “mediation”, “professional” and “distance”. The abstracts of the nineteen results found were read, in order to determine the real correspondence with the present object of study. The three resulting articles were read in full and submitted to analysis regarding the delimited concepts. The development of this work, throughout the month of April 2022, resulted in the perception that it is necessary to strengthen research in the area, since the few existing studies do not allow for a more precise analysis of how the concepts of pedagogical mediation and didactic transposition are addressed in the scope of Professional Education at distance learning.
