This article presents initial reflections from a doctoral research that explores how youngsters in socio-economic vulnerability interact, respond, and benefit from opportunities to access Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and connectivity in the globalized digital society, as well as the citizenship practices that emerge from this reality. The study analyzes how these interactions influence citizenship practices and the accessibility to good quality information, considering the socio-digital inequalities in Brazil. With a descriptive and explanatory approach, based on a bibliographic and documentary review, the study examines social markers such as race, gender, class, and territory, exploring how these dimensions intertwine and shape distinct experiences of access, use, and impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the daily lives of young people in situations of vulnerability. Furthermore, it reveals how these factors contribute to exclusion and limit rights and opportunities. The results corroborate that social, economic, and political structures not only sustain but also intensify dynamics of exclusion and collective vulnerabilities, perpetuating structural inequalities and limiting equitable access to rights and opportunities.
