THE ROLE OF PUBLIC POLICIES IN THE SOCIAL PRODUCTION OF INCLUSION

This article derives from the thesis prepared within the scope of the Graduate Program in Education of the Faculty of Education at UNICAMP - Research Line Teacher Training and Teaching Work, linked to the research group of the Laboratory of Studies and Research in Teaching and Difference - LEPED /UNICAMP. Here, the proposal is to focus on the role of public policies in the social production of inclusion. To this end, it is organized through the presentation of the theoretical foundations that support the right to equality and difference, in addition to the analysis of national and international regulatory framework, relating to the right of people with disabilities to inclusive education. At the conclusion of this work, the State's inducing potential in the social production of inclusion is highlighted, demonstrated by the indicators that point to the expansion of access to inclusive education, the decrease in enrollments in segregated schools and the majority preference of families, managers and teachers for inclusive schools.
